| | Ignite | ] | I haven’t written in this thing in so long. I don’t even know where to begin. I guess since so many weeks have passed (and so many tidbits have been forgotten), I will start with AFI. On April 28th, Willy and I joined the I-10 to Los Angeles (the city of angels, apparently). We left around 10:30 and we planned to get there around 3 or 4 so we were a little behind schedule. Road trips are always fun for me, even if I am the one driving most of the way. It gives me time to have a look around at my surroundings and it honestly calms my nerves. I think I’d be okay with a full year tour. Anyways, on the way, we stopped at the dinosaurs. It’s basically just a rest stop with a restaurant, a burger king, and like 3 dinosaurs (and some snake dinosaurs as well as a prehistoric turtle). It used to be that you could go in the T-Rex’s mouth and look out (they are pretty realistic in size), but they closed that down for a while. Well, they reopened the T-Rex mouth so Willy and I conquered that goal in life (while spending two bucks). After eating some food, we ventured forward. Everything ran pretty smoothly as far as traffic goes. When we started getting closer to LA, the traffic jams started piling up. I even almost crashed my car (literally an inch away from the other bumper) because the car in front of me stopped too fast. Other than that, LA traffic wasn’t too bad. I found myself loving the freedom of cutting of other cars and flicking off unsuspecting civilians. It was great. We finally got to the Holiday Inn at around 5:30. We didn’t get the room we asked for (we wanted two beds), but I honestly didn’t care at that point. We rested for about 30 minutes and then decided that we should get to the Henry Fonda Theatre for AFI. At this point of the story, I’m realizing that it’s way too late tonight to even try and finish this entry, so I am going to leave a bit of suspense and write a part 2 for tomorrow. Journal, I’m truly sorry for not writing in you sooner, please forgive me? |

| | Crime In Stereo-Explosives And The Will To Use Them | ] | I will not apologize, but I will say that I am disappointed that I haven't written sooner. Because of my laziness I have now forgotten what has happened since I last wrote. Once again, I won't say that I'm sorry, but I'll do the best that I can to recall the events of a week ago. I went to Wolfstock two fridays ago. I don't have much to say about this event because fairs suck and I had a bad night. To sum that night up (and yet leave all the important acts out), Devin and I ended up leaving early; me only slightly hating the world. The next morning, I woke up exhausted. It was 9 AM and I had last minute band practice before we played our show in prescott. We had Jason fill in for bass because Jon left his phone off (I've yet to hear what his plans for this band are) all week. After running through our set (sloppily) and trying to play the Lifetime cover, we went to eat at Taco Bell and then headed out to the great city of Prescott. Nick, Becca, and I rode in Andrew's car. We got there in pretty good time compared to last time when I drove. The show ended up being switched to Kendall's house, which was good news because that place is always a fun time. Our set went pretty well. We didn't mess up on any of our songs (that I know of) and the kids were having a good time. However, our Lifetime cover was a little disappointing. We stopped about halfway through because the drum beats were out of place and then started back up with me singing the wrong lyrics. It was pretty humorous and I don't think anyone cared. We ate food after the show (kendall's mom is amazing when it comes to making us vegan dinners) and hung out. It wasn't as social as the last time we played up there, but it was still fun. We left around 10, me being forced to switch vehicles and ride in Drew's car. We all ended up singing Bayside aloud, but my voice hurt from playing the show so it sounded like there was a smoker of 30 years in the backseat singing. Anyways, the school week that followed was pretty uneventful and I don't remember any of it, so I'm erasing it from my head. On thursday morning, it was time for the choir trip. I left to the airport at 3:30 AM. Getting two hours of sleep is probably one of the worst ideas I've ever had, but the computer calls to me at night. We arrived in Chicago at a time that I don't remember (and I guess has no relevance to my entry). The trip was extremely enjoyable. We saw the play, Rent (yeah, I wasn't to excited either), ate some filling dinners, went to a huge mall where I bought bigger plugs, went to lunch at a place called Midevil Times (think Cable Guy), went into the Sears Tower, and hung out with some ladies. I'm gonna have to explain Midevil Times some more. Imagine a round, coliseum type, food place. Basically you sit down and eat Chicken (called dragon wings), ribs (called wolf ribs), and potatoes with no utensils while there is some random show going on about knights and jousting. And I shouldn't forget that they had some apple type desert that most likely contained an animal derived product. I didn't eat any of this nonsense, but I did enjoy some veggies that probably came from a can. I say that with the most amount of sarcasm someone can use. This place literally had no vegan items. I was pretty much forced to go somewhere to eat that I couldn't eat at. I ate a good two bites of the canned vegetables and pushed my plate away. But despite the food being horrendous, I enjoyed the performance that was being showed in the sand pit area below. It's quite entertaining and had hilariously bad acting. We came back from Chicago last night and I was glad to be back. As of right now, I'm just listening to some tunes and contemplating on eating another lunch. Point the speakers: ready, aim, fire! |

| | Brand New | ] | For the first time in my life I felt like the walls of the world were closing in on me and I had no where to go. And as I looked for comfort, I realized confusion was the only answer I could get and so I stood there, surrounded by everybody. |

| | Name Taken-Magnolia | ] | It's been a while, but you can't blame me. Nothing too exciting happened yesterday. However, I did start to get really sick. I was feeling a little gross before, but then, around 4, I had a really bad dry cough. I fell asleep around 5 and then woke up at 8. Today was better. After school, I went to Cactus Flowers and ordered daisies and a note with it that said, "These daisies are beautiful and you are to. Will you go to the prom with me?" I had it sent to Jessica's house. I took her out to Starbucks later and we hung out for about an hour. Afterwords, I took her home and she showed me her dad's drum set. That thing is humongous! It's got like 4 pedals. 2 for the bass drum and 2 for the symbols. Plus he has this bongo setup thing. Oh man, what I would give to be able to play the drums. After checking out the amazing drum set, I went home and did absolutely nothing. My plan was to find out the answers to the essay questions that will be on tomorrow's Economics test, but that has yet to happen. I'm thinking around 9 is when I'll realize that it is crucial that I get that done. I got a call from a restricted number today and when I answered, realized that it was Jessica. To sum things up, she said yes. And she sounded pretty excited too (so was I). When she said yes I began to stutter and mix up all my words on the phone. I felt so dorky and lame, but I was really happy. There's really nothing else to say except for that I'm still sick and probably will be sick for a while. I have my first practice with my 2nd band (we're pop punk) tomorrow and I'm nervous because my voice is shot from being sick. Stupid blood cells, what's wrong? Why won't you work right lately? |

| | Blink 182-Cheshire Cat | ] | I'm disappointed with myself because I didn't elaborate enough on the past week. Let me explain. On thursday Kenneth, Justin, Alex Beck, and I took a rode trip to Sunrise Ski Resort. We left around 4:30 AM and reached our destination at around 8. It was great snowboarding again (this time without strep throat). The sun was extremely bright that day and me, being the irrational person that I am, didn't think that I would need any sunscreen. I, of course, was wrong. I mostly hit up the park that day, but also found time to scope out some other runs. When the lifts closed, we went back to the resort that we were staying at and hung out until 10. My face was about as red as a tomato. Thumbs down for sunburned faces. On saturday I threw the cast party (part II). There were about 20 kids that came, including Drew, Jason, and Dustin. I was really glad they came. Nothing like having some sober people at a party. We all ended up playing Bayside (in my case, singing Bayside) with my dad's guitars. Everyone pretty much left around midnight. I snuck out, leaving my brother, Jon, and Finkel in charge of the house, to Izzo's and hung out with her, Jessica, and Melanie. I had a pretty good time there. We just hung out and told random stories, but it was fun. I was "kicked out" at around 3, but in a nice manner. When I arrived at my house, people were still up. Everyone ended up falling asleep at 5. I was skeptical of the mess that was made but I woke up to a clean house and a bag of trash. Once again, everyone helped out to clean up the house, and I was grateful. Sunday was boring until I got a call from Drew. He told me that Ray, Jen, Jason, and him were all swimming at Ray's apartment complex. I left for the 30 minute drive, psyched that something came up on that almost boring Sunday. When we all walked to the pool, their were too many "sewer children" and fat people in the jacuzzi and pool area to go swimming (they obviously contaminate everything they touch) so we sat around wondering what to do. We decided that we were all pretty hungry so we took the trip to Chopsticks to have some tofu dinner. I had the sweet and sour tofu. After eating, I took everyone home, but stopped for an hour at Ray's apartment. He had Pomade handy and we decided that we needed to do my hair, greaser style. We used a handful of this grease and slicked my hair back. It looked alright actually, but this stuff does not come out. When I came home, I washed my hair over six times and it was just as greasy as it was when I styled it. But I guess it's like what they say, sometimes you have to make sacrifices for rad things. |
